Housing

Here is a link to the GSAS page on Housing, which contains information on on-campus and off-campus housing, as well as dorms, dining, resident advisors, summer housing, and housing applications.

Dorms

GSAS guarantees housing for all incoming graduate students. There are four, dormitory style graduate residence halls, which are located right next to Maxwell Dworkin. Applications usually open in early March and close towards the end of April. You can find out about the room fees, floor plans, and the application process here: https://www.gsas.harvard.edu/prospective_students/gsas_residence_hall.php

Please be aware that living in the dorms requires you to enroll in the Dudley House meal plan.

University Housing

Harvard owns a number of properties in the Cambridge, Allston, Somerville, and Boston area. No security deposit, application fee, or finder’s fee are required, and rents are paid via student term bill. Most units are leased in the spring through “View and Select Windows”, although a small number of units become available throughout the year. To find more information regarding the leasing process and to see a list of the inventory, please visit: http://www.huhousing.harvard.edu/apply

Non-Harvard Housing

In addition to the GSAS page on Housing, Harvard offers resources on off-campus housing here: https://www.harvardhousingoffcampus.com/

Resident Advisor Positions

Resident advisors (RAs) are graduate students employed by the GSAS Office of Student Affairs to fulfill various responsibilities in the GSAS Residence Halls: Child, Conant, Perkins, and Richards. An RA lives on each floor of the residence halls. RAs in Child, Conant, and Richards Halls receive a free, small single room and 10 meals weekly, Monday through Friday, at Dudley House for the academic year. RAs in Perkins Hall, which houses a larger number of students per floor than the other residence halls, may choose either a small or large room. Please see the GSAS page on Housing for more information.
